The Nassau County Museum of Art preserves, enhances, and interprets its
collections for the people of Long Island, the State of New York and beyond.
The Museum is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of art, with particular
emphasis on the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries; to enhance and add to its outdoor
sculpture garden; to widen the appeal of the Tee Ridder Miniatures Museum; to continue
to improve its historic gardens and to keep an active schedule of exhibitions and
educational programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.
During the past fiscal year, the Museum has developed vital programming
to establish itself as the leading cultural institution on Long
Island. Because of quality programming that has been presented
we have served 225,000 people with 30,000 being school children.
The Museum provides Docent tours, the Art Partner Program is
a partnership with sixteen school districts, serving approximately
90 schools. Other programs besides our exhibitions includes our
Children’s Performing Art Series in the Galleries, Culture
Kids programs and Studio Art Classes at the Educational Center
as well as Celebrity Lectures, Tea & Tours, Curator Chats
and hosting various events for the benefit of the community.
